"I sympathise that as a business you wish to expand, and that this would indeed create jobs in the area...but I fail to see why exactly you have chosen this specific spot? It is outstanding in every respect, and draws enough tourism and business on its own merits without the addition of Go Ape. Please please reconsider your application and look elsewhere, I've been walking on Moel Famau since I was tiny and I hope to bring my children to it one day...in the same condition in which is stands.
I could cite numerous examples of businesses which attempt to do what you are doing and fail - for the simple reason that if you don't have local support out of 'tourism season' you don't have a business.
Please Please reconsider another site for your park.

"This is a dreadful idea. Loads of us here on Merseyside like to visit this lovely beautiful area and go walking and enjoy the peace and quiet. If people really want to go whizzing down wires at high speeds (which I admit does look like good fun) then surely they could go to one of the existing places that does it. There are after all plenty of them about. People come to visit the moel Famau range because they like it as it is. Don't let them spoil it!"

"This is a really bad idea and a great way to ruin a wonderful area of masive natural beaty and significance...there are too few aeras left in the UK that match Moel Fammau for its splendour.......why industrialise it with this theme park! What a short sighted idea.as someone earlier in this forum said why not invest in the local kids with meaningful activities and ventures that will be in synergy with the environment...its unbelieveable what the commercial world will inflict on us in the pursuit of profit and wealth................."

"Can;t wait to have a go at zip wild- sure it will feel and look superb from up there. I do think though that the post by Kieran on 22 March 2010 is a really good idea, in return for what you will be making out of this you could do something for the community in return and perhaps give lower prices to those teenagers in the area so they can actually enjoy what your putting there. x

"We are unlucky enough to have had the GOApe experience at Rivington for 12 months now. Apparently it has exceeded their expectations, however we have seen little evidence of that. Make no mistake though it is a terrible violation of a once beautiful area of woodland, raped by messers Mayhew and his gang of corporate marauders. They masquerade under the banner of ecology and claim to aim to educate about the environment. It is shambolick ideology driven by the greed of corporate gain. The Rivington experience has happened and it is worth noting and taking heed that the local council involved has since been found guilty by the LGO of six counts of maladministration and two of injustice. Make of that what you will and consider whether or not they were the only guilty party. Build your sites in areas of managed forrest like Delamere and leave protected areas alone, those who oppose you have a greater right than you."
